Coconut Milk, Coconut oil - Can I use too much coconut?

Hi all-

Not sure exactly where to post this.  My 14mo DD has a dairy intolerance and I've been using a lot of coconut based products as substitutes.  We use coconut oil a lot, use coconut milk as a beverage, and I make curries using canned coconut milk (the thicker type).

Can there be such a thing as too much coconut?  It seems to make a presence at least daily, sometimes every meal!

Yeah I wonder too..

I don't think so.  It does have a lot of saturated fat and sometimes that can give you a stomach ache if you don't normally consume large amounts of fat, but other than that, I can't think of any reason you can eat plenty of coconut products.

I've been doing it for almost 3 years (DD is also soy and dairy intolerant) and  haven't noticed any ill effect.  You might want to be some-what careful not to consume more than 2 or so tablespoons of coconut OIL a day since it can make you detox.
