Alternative to disposable pullups for bedwetting?

My son (5) and my friend's daughter (6) both wet the bed. Although they're not special needs, I thought the folks here might be able to help us.

We use pullups, she uses disposable diapers. But we're wondering about chemicals. Any ideas on other products we could use? She just saw that fuzzibunz but they say up to 45 pounds. I doubt they will last us very long. Any other alternatives?

Thanks

If you would like I can find one of my Large sized fuzzibunz and give you some measurements.  If you don't mind pre-owned, you can also get some XL and Petite or something like that on diaper swappers.

I can tell you that on my daughter at 2 1/2 we had the Larges on and had them pulled tight.

There are also cloth diaper/trainers.  There are also different brands that may go to bigger weight limits/sizes.  If not, you can always find a WAHM who makes and sells cloth diapers.  Again, a good resource to check is the cloth diapering forum on here or the forums on diaper swappers (place to sell/give away/trade/etc cloth diapers)

Ok, here is a discussion on diaper swappers about large sized cloth diapers/trainers for older kids..with a link to another discussion on it at the same place.

Well I can just about fit my 4 1/2 yo into an XL fuzzibunz, stuffed with a small prefold and hemp doubler. It's on the last set of snaps.

We mostly use a terry square, hemp doubler and fleece liner under a motherease XL airflow. Again we're on the last set of snaps. He's surprised me by preferring this one and after a couple of mornings practice can undo the snappi himself.

I've also heard good things about the happy heinies pocket trainers but haven't tried them myself.

If I'm not doing a load of washing I rinse out the cover and hang it up to dry as we only have one. We've got lots of inners so they get rinsed out and left in the bucket till I do a load. I do a rinse cycle then chuck the rest of the washing in for the main wash, it would take too long to get a full load of nappies.

Cooshie Tooshies  makes a larger pocket diaper & Kristy is AWESOME to work with!

We used a variety of brands when my son used night pull-ups... I think we liked Imse Vimse the best before I started making our own.   Imse Vimse & Bumkins had larger sizes as I recall.  You definately want pocket style so you can add extra absorbancy. I would recommend bamboo & hemp.
