Seriously!! The title says it all. They can be perfectly quiet, friendly, and occupied ... but Daddy walks in and all he!! breaks loose.

OMG!!!  your title is hilarious!! Â
No..you are not alone.  As soon as mine walks in the door they are insane crazy little people who yell scream and fight.  Luckily once he's home and changes he is playing with them or occupying them while I cook dinner.  So he can deal with the crazy's!!!
Because kids find transition hard and him walking in is a big one (it signals that dinner/bath/bed is about to begin).
Â
Because they are bored with you and excited he has come in (even though you spent all day doing fun inventive and educational things for/with/at them).
Â
Because he diverts your attention which makes them suddenly want it (from both of you, at once, despite the fact that 10 seconds before he walked in they were happily ignoring you and playing quietly).
Â
Because it is the witching hour and it begins not with a dong on the clock but a dad in the door.
Â
I don't really know why. Â But i'm with you hun, i'm right there with you!
MY DH can commiserate with you.
Â
I think it is largely because I am the most fun, fantastic awesome person ever, and they are just PSYCHED as all get out to see me!!!!! no? probably not?
Â
Yeah, probably not.![]()
Â
I think it's just what GoBecGo says: Transition + Different + witching hour +Hunger = crazy time!
Â
Only usually it's ME cooking dinner while the circus ensues at my feet. LOLÂ
Â
It's sort of a fun welcome home in a way. Makes me feel needed rather than just a paycheck...so maybe your DH secretly likes it too.
