I had my first postpartum period about eight weeks pp. That was almost exactly 28 days ago. For the past four or five days, I've had mild cramping on and off and teeny tiny bits of spotting. Mostly old and brownish, though there was one day where it was pink and fresh and I thought I had started my period. Nothing else for a good twelve hours then back to a tiny bit of brown blood on the toilet paper. Today I thought again that I had finally started my period but now I'm not so sure. I had some bright pink spotting again, some red on the toilet paper this morning when I first got up. It returned to being brown in color but there's more. Not enough to need a pad, just streaks on the toilet paper.
What the heck is going on??! I've never had "bleeding" like this before. Is it possibly implant bleeding?? My midwife told me that period generally start back up once baby sleeps five hours at night without breastfeeding. My first pp period happened after DS2 slept about six hours straight at night for a week, but since then he;s back to being up every three or four. Is it possible that the breastfeeding is just interferring with the period hormones?
I'm really at a loss here regarding what's going on. If it continues for another couple of days, I'm going to get in touch w/ my midwife but I thought I'd check in here to see if anyone had BTDT or had insight first. I'm starting to get concerned....
TIA!!!
