I am new here and happy to find so many other mamas who are nursing toddlers. My DS is 24 mo. and wakes every 2 hours or so to nurse.  I am ready to try night weaning him and willing to put up with a few tears, but I honestly don't think my husband can handle it; he can't bear to hear DS cry at all! In a few weeks, my husband will be out of town and I have been planning to take DS to visit my parents for the week. It occurred to me that without my husband around to worry about why DS is crying, I could try night weaning, probably following Dr. Jay Gordon's plan. My question is whether it would be foolish to attempt this at my parents' house (they would be supportive), or if I should stay home and do it here... not that I want to cancel my trip, but don't have many nights without DH around and I really don't think it would work with him here, the way he worries about DS being upset, and always sees nursing as the solution.  He thinks I should keep nursing him until he outgrows it but I feel like I can't keep it up that long... wanting to TTC #2 soon but needing to sleep more at night before I'm ready for pregnancy again.
