Ferments don't test well for many people? What? RE:Kinesiology.

We've been seeing a woman who uses kinesiology to help us figure out our food sensitivities and which supplements are right for our bodies. I do believe that she has helped us and dd2 no longer has mucus in her poop, although now I have some problems with digestion.  When I asked her assistant on the phone recently about ferments (kefir, kombucha, kim chi, ect) she said that almost no one tests well for those things. Now I believe a lot of things that she has told me, but this I cannot understand. Why wouldn't this natural way of getting beneficial bacteria into our bodies not work for so many people? Then we should all need to take a probiotic supplement? Thoughts on this?TIA

I don't know about kinesiology, but I know for myself I cannot tolerate anything fermented...no fish sauce, soy sauce, yogurt, kraut...nothing.

Don't know what to make of that.  I would love to eat my probiotics rather than in pill form, but right now I just can't.

Sorry I can't help but I do have another related question. Our naturapath has said that my son is intolerant to yeast. His yeast is high at the moment and he does have leaky gut. I was hoping to start him on water kefir next week which contains beneficial yeast.

If he is intolerant to yeast does that mean I shouldn't do the kefir ? Or do the benefits outway the issues ? Has anyone else been in this situation ?

Thanks

Did you have some sort of test that showed his yeast was high? Yeast feeds yeast, I have no idea. But there are different kinds of yeast?

Like candida. Does your son have thrush? I believe that is candida.

The lady I saw said that I was sensitive to ferments including liquor, vinegar (except brown rice vinegar and ume plum vinegar), miso, tempeh, nutritional yeast. But baker's yeast and koji (what ever that is) are ok. Dairy cheese and sweeteners (except for agave, brown rice syrup, honey). She never tested me for things like kombucha, kefir, kimchi, but just said that many people don't test well. So lots of people have a yeast problem. I guess that is true.

I am doing a CDSA (stool test) from Genova, next week, so hopefully that will tell me something.
