Hi, I'm new here!

Thread Starter

My friend Sarah aka Austinsmom invited me here.

My name is Trish.  I have two kids.  My oldest Makily is seven.  She has a rare genetic disorder called Emanuel Syndrome.  It causes severe medical, physical and developmental delays.  She is 100% G tube fed and has many diagnosises that go along with her condition.  Ask me anything about her, I'm an open book when it comes to my girl.

I am a carrier for this condition so we fostered to adopt our son.  He is now three years old.  He came to us at four months of age.  His biological mother did LOTS of drugs and drank while she was pregnant.  Jakob has some speech delays and behavioral problems as a result of this.  We are working on these issues and MY HOPE is that by the time he starts kindergarten he will have caught up enough to be successful in mainstream school and not need any ESE classes.  If he does though we will roll with it just as we have everything else.

If anyone has any questions about G tubes etc and I can help I'm more than happy to!

I hope to get to know you and all your awesome kids very well!

Hi Trish.

I've just nosed around your caring bridge, your blog and Makily's you tube site and ... wow. I'm just madly in love with your beautiful and wonderful little girl. She's such a treasure. I wanted to tell you that. Some people say it takes courage to live the life you do. From what I've seen and read, it takes love and you have an abundance of it. Enough to make it through Makily's struggles and bring another needing child into your arms. Jakob is a very lucky boy, indeed! I look forward to getting to know you and your little ones better!

Hi Trish! I have seen alot of your videos for Makily over the last few years. (My DD has a chromo 6 mutation and PRS). SO some of my research led me to your site.

I really enjoyed the video from the OT with switch.
