Back at work...need your great ideas on milk storage!

Hello,

I returned to work 3 weeks ago and am finding the freezer milk storage bags to be spendy and also wasteful.  I'm curious if there are any smarter and less wasteful ways of freezing breast milk.  I found the Sensible Lines Milk Trays online but so many people complain that the lid doesn't fit on the tray so they spill a lot of "liquid gold."  It kills me every time I accidentally spill milk so I'm not so sure the Sensible Lines milk trays would be idea.  I've also read that you want to freeze milk without any trapped air in the container.

Any clever ideas or tricks that have worked for you?

Thanks in advance!

How long do you plan to store the milk? I only keep mine 1-3 weeks (only frozen to have breastmilk 'popsicles' or 'ice lollies' for teething) so I use a regular ice cube tray, don't fill it to the top, cover with plastic wrap to keep out debris and after 24 h transfer to a Zip Lock Freezer bag, where I make sure the air is removed.

How much are you freezing?  I rarely froze extra - maybe 2-3x a week I'd freeze a few bags.  The rest of the time, I'd just use monday's milk on tuesday, tuesday's milk wednesday, etc, including friday's milk on monday.
