can you do this with a play yard?

For reasons I don't have time to go into (DS is going to get cranky in a minute) I cannot completely baby proof my bedroom where DS sleeps with me.  My mattress is already on the floor.  I was thinking of buying 2 of the summer infant play yards and putting them around my bed so he's contained if he wakes up while I'm in the shower getting ready for work.

Any cons I haven't thought of?

Sounds like the ideal use for a play yard.  I can't think of any reason not to.

2 questions that come to mind when I picture this scenario.

Will the play yards completely close off the bed?

Can he pull them down onto himself?

Yes, completely enclose the bed.  I don't think he could pull it down?  I don't think it's much different than the regular use, except my bed will be in the middle of it?  Also, currently I have the long side of the bed "blocked off" by the cosleeper and a small dresser (obviously not ideal).  The play yard is actually a couple inches taller than these items and he can't pull up on them yet, so I think I'm ok in that direction and am looking forward to not having them next to the bed.

I'm still contemplating getting rid of our bed and just going the mattress route.
