Rice Lake, WI homebirth midwives?

I'm new here, looking for homebirth midwives that serve the Rice Lake area for a friend of mine. Anyone live near there and used a midwife you really love and have recommendations? Thanks! :)

Hi there! Welcome to MDC. :)

My parents have a home in Cumberland, WI, which is near Rice Lake. We visit there often, so I know a few things about the area. One thing I don't know is the names of any local midwives! I do know a resource for finding some names, though.

May I suggest that your friend pay a visit to the Island City Food Co-op (http://www.islandcityfoodcoop.com/) in Cumberland? Every time I go there, I see or hear something about the local birth community. The co-op has a bulletin board where midwives and doulas advertise their services. And if I'm not mistaken, one of the co-op employees is herself a midwife.

In case anyone comes across this, as of this week Jessica/LifeCircle Birth Center is no longer taking patients, for personal reasons unrelated to birth.

If she is willing to travel a bit, there are several midwives in Duluth, MN (about two hours drive) who sometimes serve clients that far away (extra fees for travel.) I had Jana Studelska, CPM, who is a blogger here at mothering and she is awesome. I hope she finds someone!

If your still looking we had a wonderful midwife name Jessica (I'm almost certain a different lady than who was mentioned above)  Her website is rootsbirth.wordpress.com  She lives about an hour away from Rice Lake, by Menomonie.

Does anyone have any knowledge of homebirthing midwives around the Beaver Dam area?
