"sick" foods

Perhaps this should be in health and healing, but I am more asking for recipes than particular advice about an illness or something, so i am posting it here for now... So I am still getting over it, but recently LO had his first ever cold (18 months) and I wasn't entirely sure what would be good to feed him. I avoided refined sugar and processed stuff more strictly than usual and I made us pear congee, which I'll share the recipe to here if anyone wants. It worked wonders on our cold which was mainly a chest cold with lots of coughing and sore throats. So, I am wondering what everyone else makes for their kids or themselves when they are sick? When I was little my mom would feed me campbell's chicken noodle soup, but I don't think that really helps much... lol

there is a great book out there about healing foods for children...but  I can't remember the exact title so I will look it up on my goodreads and get back to you!
