Second babies . . . earlier? Faster? - Page 2

My data point:

DS1: 39 weeks, 5.5 hour labour (1.5 hours pushing), at hospital

DS2: 39 weeks 6 days, 2 hour labour!!!, at home (thank goodness), otherwise he would've been born in the car. As it was when my midwife got there, my DH was holding DS2's head :)

So, my second labour was later, but was MUCH shorter.

 # 1 was born at 35wks6days, i caved at 5cm for the epidural labor from first contraction to birth was 36 hours.

#2 was born at 38wks3days, natural birth, from first contraction til his birth was 17hours.

#1 40 wks 5 days, 24 hr labor (no interventions)

#2 40 wks 6 days, 3 hr labor (no interventions)

Both were LOA.

#1 DD1 39w4d 14.5 hr from losing my MC until birth, maybe a couple of hours of pushing – don’t remember was on Pathadine

#2 DD2 38w1d 12 hr from when my water broke until birth, epi at 3 cm, after 5 hr was at 10 cm pushed for 20 min and baby was out!

I enjoyed my 2^nd birth experience as I was alert and aware of everything that was happening, it was just my husband and I, the Dr and the midwife. Very quiet and serene, baby came out clean and it seems she was asleep, she cried after a bit of suction and that was it! very peaceful I must say, and not a single stitch, unlike my first one, I was hardly aware of my surroundings drugged up barely awake when I was told to push, a lot of people  in the room and finally an EPISOTOMY! Ouch!!

DD1- 39+6- Pit birth 7 hours- 1.5 pushing (ROM before active labor)

DD2- 40+1- 5 hours (3 of active labor) about 30 min of pushing.  ROM began labor again.

Mine are:

#1: Induced with Pit, 13 hours from start of drip to baby in my arms. 8 lb 8 oz 41 wks 0 days

#2: Only had the bag broke since it didn't break right before pushing, labor was approximately 16 hours. 8 lb 3 oz. On due date!!

#3: Again bag broke but this time to speed things up.......Labor was 8 hrs with 3 pushes. Um, things really didnt need sped up lol. 6 lb 8 oz. 38 wks 0 days

To be honest, #2 was my hardest because I had back labor. I have never had an epidural (even with the Pit induction), but with 1 and 2 I had I did have Stadol, I regret this.

My easiest was of course #3. She was born so fast that it wasn't funny. The CNM wasn't even in the room and she was "delivered" by an RN. They didn't believe me when I said its time to push....So I held the first push, then pushed, and crowned on the second real push, baby on the third. Nurse barely ready. It was so funny.

All 3 were hospital births.
