BFing the baby with teeth

Ds at 8.5 months is still breastfed and has 4 upper &2 lower teeth. He doesn't bite me, but nursing is getting uncomfortable. Lately I'm noticing that he is leaving teeth imprints around my nipple. What can I do?

Check out this page on Kellymom.com  I am having the same problem, actually it has gotten better recently. I think they have to adjust to the new teeth. My son bit me the other day by accident and it actually broke this skin and got a little infected:( I find that he pulls back when he's nursing and I don't think that helps the marks and indentations either.

I'm careful to remind him to open WIDE when he latches, and I re-latch if it is uncomfortable. Good news is that at least in my experience it gets better as he gets used to his new teeth!

THANK YOU!

same issue here!  Ds has 6 teeth fully in and 2 more halfway down.  Today two of his teeth are really coming down and he wants to gnaw on everything. It  was really uncomfortable to nurse him!

Mine bit me hard several times yesterday (and laughed afterward). :(  I think he was upset that my flow was much slower after a bout of mastitis these last few days.  Luckily my boob and he both behaved much better today.
