DS is TERRIFIED of poop! I'm concerned and need help please!

I have a concern I wanted to ask you about. DS is 18 months old and he just started some really bizarre behavior. First, he was on Augmentin which made his poop really gross. One day he pooped in the bathtub and it terrified him. He screamed at the top of his lungs, started crying and panicking and climbed out to hug me. He was OK for one or two baths after that one, but the other day I noticed he was really clingy so I tried it. He wanted to be held and only held a certain way, like it was uncomfortable for him to be on my hip. He kept kind of running or stepping in place and was clearly uncomfortable. I put him in the tub and he freaked out within a few minutes because he thought he pooped in it. He jumped out and searched frantically to see where it was and I had to show him there was none, but he still wouldn't go in. He has been terrified ever since and we can't get him in the tub. Even washing his feet off today was almost impossible. We went to my parent's house tonight and he saw a leaf on their floor (it's hardwood, whereas we have carpet), and he must have thought it was poop because he refused to walk on any of the floors at their house. He wanted to be held and when I would try to put him down, he would cry and hold his legs up. I have no idea what this is all about and it really concerns us. He is still doing the walked in place thing and seems to have a hard time pooping, but he is going. It seems as if it hurts him. He is extra clingy and really wants to be held most of the time. Any thoughts?

Try reading him the book "Everyone Poops". My LO really liked it when he was going thru his poop issues
