Do I believe the monitor & OPK or my temps??

There are a lot of similar threads, but here is mine :)

I charted to conceive 4 years ago but haven't been charting since because I had an IUD. I got my IUD taken out on the 8th and I got AF on the 11th, about when I would have expected a regular AF. My temp shift does not line up with what the fertility monitor is telling me. I also used cheapy OPKs so I could test in the afternoon. I was so excited to TTC after getting a super surprise green light from DH that I really failed to think it through as well as I should have. This month is not the best month to get a BFP so I sort of decided to avoid halfway through. That whole think is pretty silly :) Anyway, the FIRST peak day on my monitor coincides with my temp shift. An OPK taken that afternoon was positive as well...

When I take the test data out, FF plots shows my O at day 13. I was pretty confident that my temp shifted but I waited until I had three days in a row to really question the OPK and monitor. I read TCOYF a few years ago, but I have always had a little trouble with CM. I did note the obvious EWCM. Thoughts??

Well, I'm no expert, especially not with OPK's and monitors, but I do know that the OPK's are not a straight +/- thing.  It's all about how dark the line is, indicating how close you are to peaking.  So you could get a positive OPK the day that your temp spikes, but it's probably fainter than the day before.  I see that you did not test the day before the spike, so you may have missed your darkest line.  As for the monitor, well, I have no experience with that, but I know that none of this is an exact science and when CTA you are considered fertile 3-4 days into your LP because of this.

As for your temps, if you remove the monitor data and leave the OPK data, does FF give you cross hairs on CD 12?  It looks likely to me especially if you can recall some EW on CD 12 as well.  That's probably another reason FF is having trouble figuring things out... no CF marked on CD 12.

Of course, only time will tell what happened, but I guess I'm a little old school in believing your temp over technology.  smile.gif
