maternity skirts: shorter in front, back, or same length for both?

I'm planning to sew a maternity skirt (approximately knee-length, with a stretchy waistband that's intended to be worn lower, under the belly button, kind of like this style of jeans: http://www.fortyweeks.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/blue-maternity-jeans.jpg).  Since it's meant to be worn lower, should I cut the front of the skirt a little shorter than the back?  Or should I just make the skirt the same length around?  My "butt allowance" in the back is minimal, but would it still be a factor to consider?  Thank you so much for any tips you have!

I would check out skirts at a retail shop and see what they do. I would think you could make it a little shorter (inch maybe) but I am not for sure. You could always start with it the same as the back and try it on and then take some off if it hangs wrong.
