Favorite sandals for new walkers?

I'm looking to buy a good pair of sandals for my 14 month old.  (started walking about a month ago)  I want something that won't rub his foot funny or won't be all floppy and cause him to trip.

Soft Star Shoes are my favorite! Plus, I see you are from Oregon... they are made in Corvallis!

I found a nice pair from Stride Rite that's a cross between sneakers and sandals. My 14 month old loves them, and walks easily in them.

i like stride ritess but i always try and get closed toe sandals even for my older kids.. it's a pain to fine but saves stubbed toes

Do you guys think that ones like these would bother the back their heel?

I love the Pedipeds Originals sandals. DD had some and DS will wear them this summer.

We bought See Kai Run sandals and they're great! We actually have two pairs (we bought them for $10 a piece at a consignment store sale, brand new in box!) and they're closed and very easy for my cruiser to walk in. Stride Rite has an "Early Walker" brand that is really nice, and we also like the Robeez MiniShoez because they have some friction on the bottom of the feet,  as opposed to regular Robeez which are smooth leather.

I second Soft Star Shoes. They have an open toe, but it's smaller than most, and the soles are incredibly flexible, much more than See Kai Run which I also liked with the exception that they scuffed really easily. Our soft star shoes have never scuffed, they look really great even when my dd outgrows them.

Pediped or See Kai Run

My dd is just a month older. I found a great pair at target. Not sure how the boy selection is. Dd doesnt wear shoes that often. Just easier for early walkers to be bare footed.

Last summer DS wore pedipeds originals (he was 18 months in July).  The lady at the shoe store gave me a really hard time about him being 'too old' for those shoes and he would wear right through them.  I bought them anyway and they were fine.  They barely even looked worn at the end of the summer.

I also really love this line by stride rite, but it only goes up to size 6 . ..,
