I've met this cool guy. But I'm overthinking everything! Like, should I shoot him a text and ask him if he's going to open mike tonight?

Is it 'against the rules' to send him a brief email to a link I found that I know he'd like?

We agreed (since we're both fresh out of relationships) to keep things mellow and just have fun. So how often is contact supposed to happen in that case? He's kind of shy, I'm not, which means that I get impatient waiting for him to contact me...

I don't know how long you have been single, but I can totally understand wanting a companion.  My hubby really wasn't there for me emotionally or psychically.  So I can get it as to why you would date if you had the chance.  I remember when things were really bad with my hubby and I, I told a friend of mine a cardboard box with arms could have me right now.

Anyway, I don't think that a quick text or a short email would be too much.  I mean 5 texts and he never response well that's different.  But just treating him as you would a friend.  If that is too much for him then it would probably not work anyway.

But if it makes you feel any better I could easily see myself doing the same thing you are, by questioning everything.

Been single for four months now... I am taking time for myself, but I'm also not the kind of person to just ignore the opposite sex :) I'm treating myself well, and taking time to process things. I'm staying in Oregon for now as my family is here.
