Sounds so yummy! You don't have to heat it up? How much of the grains? Whatever it suggests on the box of starter?

no heating, whatever amount you have laying around, and there is no 'box of starter', you have to find someone who has extra grains and shares (the 'starter' is not real kefir. and no, i just got mine, i don't have any to share yet, sorry. takes awhile to grow- how long, i don't know. there are yahoo groups available that can hook you up, or g.e.m. cultures will sell you some.)

mona, you can make it with other seed/nut milks too, unlike yogurt (but it does need to hang out in some dairy in between uses, from what i read it will eventually die if you don't. just wash the milk off well.) i am wanting to try pumpkin seed; yum.
