ease of install--what do your recommend for those without the muscles to install the seat...

We have 2 myride65s--and currently only use the one installed in my car (subaru outback) b/c we can't get the one in the Saturn Ion installed tightly enough (latch system).

We will be traveling (plane/rental car) in a couple of weeks and taking a car seat with us.  For the life of me, I cannot imagine carting around the myride 65 and installing/uninstalling (every day we're gone a couple of times) without blowing a fuse.

Does anyone have any suggestions for car seats that work well for traveling (convertible, rf for 24 pound 1 year old) and are easier to install than the Myride?

Thanks!

We use a Scenera for a travel seat.  It is not a super easy install (though I've rarely found it terrible) but the seat weighs next to nothing and is very inexpensive.  It fits most kids until 2-3 RF and 3 or so FF.  For flying we strap it to a luggage cart and put either children or bags in it for wheeling around the airport. :-D

A 24lb 1yo would fit in many infant seats, which can usually be installed without a base...

Have you tried the MR with a belt?  I find if I sit in a seat to tighten, I can get any seat tight enough.  I just partially kneel in it.  Never had a problem tightening my MR.  Even installed it with a locking clip once.

Thanks folks!  I played around with the myride 65 we have in the saturn ion and was able to get it tighter.  I found I had to put up the base (it has a base that flips up to change the angle) and then shift the seat a bit over (so it wasn't directly over the hump in the middle and then kneel (thanks!) in it.  I think we're going to go ahead and travel with the seat we have (the myride 65) even tho' it's a pain to carry and install--once I priced carriers for the carseat itself and a carseat I decided I could deal with the hastle :)

Those feet on the base must be folded up to be used rfing and put down to use ffing.  It's in the manual.

Glad it's working for you!

Yikes, I thought it was the other way around!!!  Off to go switch those feet in the other car!

I just want to make sure that we're on the same page.  The feet have to be folded under the seat when rfing, so they aren't out at all.  They have to be out for ffing.  Definitely check your manual!
