sick baby/supply question/small vent.....

Thread Starter

ds is 3 weeks old we were in the hospital w/ suspected pneumonia from Saturday until yesterday evening. he has not been nursing the greatest....small 5 min feeds sometimes only 5 mins every 2-3 hours. Today he has been nursing 5-10 mins sessions some every hour some every few hours. He seems to be feeling much better than he was. do I need to worry about my supply? The hospital was really no help in that area. i did use a pump a few times while there but the nurses kept offering to give him formula. One nurse seemed annoyed that I would not give him the formula and told me it is not good for the baby to "snack" eat.

So should I pump here at home? or will my milk be okay? Thanks

Also not sure if I need to post this question else where or here....but he has been on antibiotics. What is the likely-hood of Thrush?

The thing that makes supply go up is baby at the breast. What I might do is spend the weekend snuggled topless with the baby to get him to try and nurse more and promote skin to skin. Just keep putting him to the breast.
