Floor Mats

My LO is starting to roll around and scoot. We have dogs so no matter how much we vacuum there is still hair in the carpet and it is so dusty here. The rest of the house is hard tile. If i put down a blanket she can't move as well. Same with beds, too soft.

I'm trying to avoid chemical laden floor mats.

Anybody have a solution or know of any safe floor mat alternatives?

What about putting a carpet on the carpet?  Then like 2-3 times a week you can roll it up and take it outside to beat the hair out of it.

Not all of the floor mats have the bad chemicals. A few of the high end ones (dwell maybe?) have safer foam.

Sadly, ours do. I don't have a better solution. A side from the leaching toxins and all they are awesome. Easy to clean. Super comfy. Baffle sound. We have oh-so-cool concrete floors and they are super hard, super loud, and super unsusable with small kids.

I did hear of a smart approach which was to use the mats and then put a carpet remnant on top...

I hear ya on the dogs!  We do greyhound rescue and up until recently had 7 dogs here with an 8 month old!  I did my best to keep the floors clean, but what I ended up doing was purchasing some 4x6 rugs off of Amazon that I only put down on the hard wood floor for her.  Yes, they probably have bad chemicals in them, so I tried to air them out the best I could.  They stay clean and are much better for her (and I) to crawl around and play on.  Just a thought.  :)

I just did my best to keep the floors cleaned & avoided putting ds in clothing that attracted the hair (ie. fleece). It's a short period & then they are up & running.

We have a floor mat. Im about to throw it away because my floor is cleaner than the mat and its a PIA to wash.
