Hello all! I was just wondering if moderately high cholesterol will put you in a "high-risk" category with midwives?
High Cholesterol & Midwives
Thanks for the input. I don't recall my midwife checking it during either of my two pregnancies either. We are in a new state now (husband is military) and I am not sure just how picky the MWs are around here. I have gained about 20 lbs over the past 1.5 years and am at the heaviest I have every been sans pregnancy (same weight as when I delivered my first child - yikes!). I am working on getting more active again and eating a lower fat diet. I've never had any health issues/concerns but when I went to the doc this last time my cholesterol was moderately high (224). Like I mentioned, I am exercising again and watching my diet...also I am wondering if part of the reason (albeit a small part) for the high cholesterol could be due to nursing as I am still nursing my 2.5 year old. Anywho - I was just curious as to where midwives stood on high cholesterol and whether or not it could knock me out of having another natural birth. (TTC soon)
