I'm cheering for your Chinese OkiMom.
I wanted a slice of pizza right before I went into labor. Still haven't gotten it!
(Although I'm glad I didn't get it, as I discovered I like to labor on a really, really empty stomach. Heh.)
Yea, didn't happen again.. Im thinking DH needs to learn not to tease a pregnant woman. I almost NEVER tell him I was a certain meal, even pregnant.. But Ive been asking for Chinese for over a MONTH now.. Mean mean mean man Oh well he has to go do some training at the end of the month so if he hasn't gotten me any by then Ill take my happy rear down and get some Ended up having leftovers and doing TV dinners for the kids. They almost never get TV dinners so its a real treat to them.
Monday: pork loin chops breaded with panko and parm cheese, roasted fingerlings, sweet potatoes, onion, garlic, brussels sprouts and cauliflower, apples for kids
Tuesday: kids had breakfast for dinner; waffles, sausages, scrambled eggs and strawberries, adults had thai red curry with salmon, sweet potatoes, onion and broccoli, quinoa and peanut noodles with sauteed tofu and spinach (lots of leftovers!)
Today: Junk food night! pigs in a blanket (hot dogs in crescent rolls), cabbage ramen salad, sweet potato fries, carrots and strawberries for kids
We did the Tuscan pasta last night and it was SOOOOOOO good.. My kids were even quiet for 10 minutes so they could eat.. Might be a bigger for some but my kids never shut up. Seriously they talk from the minute they wake up to the minute they fall asleep (and sometimes talk in their sleep!)
Tonight we are having leftovers.. The pasta made a TON.
My parents got her tonight so we are ordering pizza. Of course my lovely father wants to go to a masonry meeting instead of see his grandkids that he sees only every few months but I digress. We will be ordering pizza- probably not a good idea to ya know- fry something because I may hit him in the head with the frying pan.
Thursday: high fiber spaghetti with some ground beef and meatless meatballs, zucchini, green pepper and mushrooms, oranges for kids
Friday: kids had turkey cheeseburgers, oven fries, carrots, apples and soycatash, dh worked late and picked up sushi on the way home
Today: grilled bbq chicken and corn on the cob, foil packet with baby gold potatoes, brussels sprouts, onion and garlic, broccoli, oranges and noodles wth parm cheese for kids (ds won't eat potatoes or sprouts)
Tomorrow: grilled salmon (hoping to get a grill basket, if not then in foil) with soy sesame sauce, grilled asparagus, wild rice, fruit
We had steak and sweet corn last night- so good- of course I did not have steak.
I made a pasta dish friday night I ate all weekend- soo good.
Penne pasta, zuchinni, summer squash, asparagus( of course) garlic, vidalia onion.... roasted with olive oil and salt.... and then some red wine my mom had thrown in and lemon juice.... fresh parmesean cheese- soo good. Just finished it up today. I love veggie pastas
tonight we ate leftovers, hamburgers, steak, pork chops and salads and whatever else was in the fridge. I will shop tomorrow.
Ugh, we had a string of not-so-good dinners at my in-laws this weekend. My father-in-law insists on undercooking all meat, to nearly dangerous levels. Ground beef should not be pink, let alone red! And everything else is underseasoned. Thursday night they made bratwursts with peppers and onions. Friday night husband and I went out to dinner at a Scandinavian brewpub while they watched the baby, and that dinner was really good. Yesterday they did burgers and steaks on the grill with baked potatoes, salad and a couple of bags of chips. I blatantly got up and microwaved my burger to finish cooking it all the way. And I still didn't feel very good today... despite having money, they just don't buy quality food and they don't know how to cook it. Every time we spend a weekend there I go back and forth in between feeling sick and hungry.
But, that's over now... tonight we're back and home and we're so tired we ordered in. I got baby egg rolls with bamee noodles and husband got spring rolls with cashew chicken. Not home cooking, but one of our favorite takeout spots so it was just so great to eat something good!
Tonight I have this going in the crockpot http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2007/02/rustic-chicken-soup-for-soul.html
Last night I made this and it was AMAZING!!! (chicken Paella) http://www.theperfectpantry.com/2007/02/valencia_or_bom.html
Can you tell my health practioner told me to drop the gluten (and dairy - harder for me!!)
I got a good deal on some seasoned chicken leg quarters at the grocery store- 6 large sections for $6. I was pretty pleased with that. The sale price was 12 off the original price. I made three of them tonight with spanish rice and mushrooms and broccoli on the side. DS is only one who has ate so far and he loves it.
YAY for me.
