Solid white lines on fingernails?

I've developed what I believe are Muehrcke's lines. They came up about a month ago.  They were across all ten nails but have improved a little and are now on only 7 nails.  They are solid, fairly thick, and go all the way across each nail about 1/2 way up the nail bed.  They do not grow out, and my fingernails appear a little blanched above them, and the line disappears if I blanch the nail on purpose.  I've read that the most common cause of these is albumin deficiency.  I do have malabsorption issues, that get better/get worse depending on all sorts of factors I haven't ironed out yet.  I'm gluten free and have been for several months now.  I've been tested and am B12, Vitamin D deficient for sure and am quite low in ferritin.  I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and microscopic colitis.  The only med I am taking is 1.5gr of dessicated thyroid (Naturethroid).  I started that about 9 months ago, and wondering if the increased metabolism pushed my need for albumin and just unmasked something that has been borderline for a while now.

Anyone else had these or know someone who has?  What did they do?  This is starting to scare me.

I don't think they are Mees' lines because they do disappear when I blanch the nailbed, and they aren't growing out with the nail, and they fade a little or get brighter depending on the day.
