What clues do I track to figure out my energy cycle?

I've figured out a lot of things about my health over the last few years, and now I have gotten to the point where I can feel great, energized, good.

But just when I'm thinking "ok, I totally have this figured out" - bang! Something hits me and my energy dies. And then it takes some time to work back up to the good point.

I had the idea to track this in some detail to see if I can figure this out. I have some ideas on "what" to track, but I would love to hear if there was something else you'd add to it.

I was thinking of just filling this out every day and then seeing if there was a trend, either just a fixed time trend (like it happens every 21 or 45 days or whatever) or something related to something else.

  • What I ate and specifically...
  • ...whether I ate wheat
  • ...or sugar
  • Whether, and how, I exercised
  • My menstruation days and my estimated ovulation
  • My mood overall (patient or cranky)
  • Any emotional disturbances (a disagreement or fight, work stress, etc.)

Other ideas that might be revealing?

I'm short on time, but a few things come to mind reading yr post w/ regard to things to track.

Hormones (testing sex hormone levels may be helpful as well as charting yr cycle)

Thyroid (charting yr temps can be a good indicator of thyroid function)

Adrenals (track stressful events and how your health responds in these situations)

Food - sounds like you're on that.

Good Luck!

Thank you! I've never heard of charting temps for hypothyroid. I will do that.

Hormones might be relevant but I can't afford to test them. Perhaps I will note sex drive, though I know that's a limited observation and subject to where I am in a cycle, etc.
