Looking for a good pediatrician or family doc in Albuquerque (for new baby)

I am looking for any references for a good ped or family doc to take my new baby to when he/she arrives in July/August.  I am looking for someone who listens to you and doesn't dismiss your concerns or pass judgement easily.  We haven't fully decided what we're doing re: vaxing, but we're sure we aren't doing all the vax's and probably having some delayed...so at the very least we are selective vaxers.  We want someone who is okay with that and respects our opinion.  I also don't want someone who pushes meds all the time.  Any recommendations?  Thanks.

We see Dr Bebe Han who practices at Bebe Care Pediatrics in Nob Hill area.  He has been great in terms of that.  We don't vax or do the standard well baby checks, just a yearly checkup and as needed for illness (rarely).  He does recommend vaccines in terms of offering information but doesn't argue with the parents who come in who say they dont' want to vax or delay, he's very pro-parents being involved and informed with their child's care.

When DD was little, we took her to Bebe Han since he was highly recommended to us. Only he tried to argue with us about our non-vax views and questioned why I was wanting to breastfeed instead of using formula. He was also asking US what her problem was since she had not stopped shreiking since she was born (he did a hospital visit shortly after her birth). We didn't know and thought HE should at least try to help us figure it out! Turns out she has sensory issues, but we figured that out later. Other than that he and his staff were nice enough.

We chose to go to Dr. Aaron Kaufman as a family Dr. He is an osteopath, is anti-vax (though not all of his PA's are that way), and is warm and friendly. He actually sent us to the Occupational Therapist when we were seeking a diagnosis for DD, and didn't question our parenting choices at all.

I'm sure there are other Doctors that people like as well. You may want to search past threads, especially the ABQ ones, as the subject has come up many times.

Good luck!

That's really weird... he congratulated me on exclusively nursing my kids and was supportive of us choosing not to vax just let us know he had information about the vaccines if we wanted them. headscratch.gif

Strange. Maybe it was just a bad month for him or something. I dunno *shrug*
