Hello, this is my first post. Anyone get pregnant after dtd well before O?

Hi there,

I'm 35 years old and have both a 2 and 3 year old (yep, and before that I was diagnosed as being unexplainably infertile, lol). Anyhow I have a typical 28 day cycle and this month on cd9 I noticed a lot of ewcm. We dtd that day and have not done it since. I usually don't 0 until cd 13 or 14 but is it possible that the sperm could have lived inside from cd9 to cd 13 and that I could very well be pregnant? I do wonder because I've got quite a few blue lines on my chest and bbs..same exact symptoms I had early on with both pregnancies in the past. Anyone here dtd way before o and got pregnant? I'd love some feedback on this. I'm going to test on Friday, AF is due to show tommorow or the next day. My past has taught me that even when I am pregnant I don't register a bfp til 13 or 14 dpo. I hate waiting though, it drives me crazy! Thanks for reading this and I appreciate any responses.

I got pregnant by DTD 5-6 days before O. I now have a healthy 10 mo old! Good luck to you! It can happen!

Thanks for replying! Congrats and hopefully I'll have the same luck and be celebrating a BFP in the next day or two. It would be really surprising but I guess sperm can live quite awhile if the conditions are right. Hope so, got my fingers crossed. I would love one more baby! I have a question, a bit personal but wondered if you remember if you had a lot of ewcm when you dtd? I did which makes me think the possibility of being pregnant is good. How many dpo did you wait to test? I'm going to try and hold out til Friday when AF should have come. Patience is not my strong suit though, I might break down and do a dollar store test tommorow if I'm feeling lucky lol.

I actually didn't have a lot of EWCM when we DTD. I told DH we weren't going to get pregnant from it because the conditions weren't right and I was several days away from O. We wanted a baby, but had concerns about our insurance covering the pregnancy at that point. Luckily, by the time I Oed/conceived we were in the clear (by four days!!) for the insurance to cover it.

I got my BFP 14 DPO.

Lol, I told my dh the same thing. That it was too early..hmm, guess we'll see! Glad to hear you got in just in time to have insurance cover you. I'm going to test Friday if AF doesn't show. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it!

Ds was conceived from 5 day old sperm!  It definitely can happen.

Thanks Jaime! I'm really obsessing here lol. I feel every little twinge and the most telling sign I've had so far is the blue lines that appeared several days ago on my chest. That was my very first symptom with dd so who knows? I'm hoping I'll get a bfp soon. Friday seems sooo far away right now lol but thats when I'd most likely get a bfp, right when AF is due. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much but reading about you and Texasmom getting pregnant when it should have been "too early" gives me hope. Fingers crossed... and thanks for replying :)

I've read some other posts recently about 6 and even 7 day old sperm resulting in BFP's.  You're definitely within the realm of totally possible and I wouldn't discount tell tale pregnancy symptoms.  You know your body best!

Thank you for the baby dust! :) And congrats! Just noticed your expecting your third in November. I had two October babies. Great time to have a baby but man the summer is hot while pregnant! Stay cool and have a happy and healthy 9mw.
