What exactly happens during foster parent "verification" and how long did it take for you? AFTER...

EVERYTHING is done: paperwork, homestudy, finger prints, classes, ect.  So now we're waiting for "verification".  What exactly does that entail and how long did you wait after your homestudy and everything was turned in to be officially licensed and verified foster parents? 

Also, how long did you wait for a placement?  I know it's different with many variables, but I'm just wondering what other's experienced.

I think it took about six weeks from the time that I signed off on my homestudy until I got the call that I was licensed. I received my first placement the day before I was officially licensed.

It took a few weeks or a month for our license to come in the mail. Less than 2 weekas later we were asked to take our first child. We picked him up from the hospital several days later. In the meantime we were called about two other placements, which we declined.

My sister had a sibling group placed with her about a month after signing the foster parent contract, but before her license actually arrived.

It took about a week to become officially licensed after we'd done all the requirements. And then it took a day before we were called for our first placement. We accepted.

After that placement went home, we waited another month before we got another call for our second placement.

When we increased our license, it was just a few days before we were called about a placement. We weren't able to accept that placement.

Waiting for another call...
