SPD/PGP - whatever it's called - my groin/pubic area hurts! tell me more?

I'm 11 weeks.  I started having occasional twinges a few weeks ago, and started noticing some clicking feeling/sound whenever I would turn over in bed (moving legs separately).  This reminds me of the last several weeks of my previous pregnancies. Walking flat and going up steps doesn't seem to hurt, but walking up a hill caused everything to feel uncomfortable.  reading round the internet suggests SPD or PGP or whatever it's called.

ETA - I haven't exercised since the race, so I guess I'm hoping exercise will help?

Seriously, could I have this, THIS early?   I haven't even gained any weight!  I was running weekly up until about 7 weeks, then I ran a 5k race.  This started about a week after that.  Related?  any hope it could improve?

If this is going to get worse the rest of the pregnancy, it totally sucks.  I have steps to get to everywhere in the house, and steps just to get in the house.  My husband's schedule means I am the only caregiver for the other two kids during the week, so it's not like I can just "rest" all the time.

Suggestions?

Carrie

I suffered with SPD during both pregnancies. In the first I didn't know what it was and it took months after delivery to recover. With #2 I saw my chiropractor throughout the pregnancy but I still ended up on bedrest for the last trimester.  My rec is to find a chiropractor who is experienced with pregnant women and this condition specifically, squeeze your knees together regularly, and then develop a workout schedule to try to keep your muscles strong.

Thanks for the reply!

My I saw my chiro last week. He has some experience  w/ pregnant women, and he did some adjusting that relieved things, at least until I popped something out lastnight.. :(  I might be making weekly visits at this rate. If it turns out my chiro isn't as effective as I need, I do know one that is well regarded with pregnant women about 2 hours away.  might be worth the trip if I'm really hurting.

I have been slacking on exercise for the past month.  prvious pregnancies I usually started walking daily near the beginning of the second tri, when I have more energy.  looks that way this time.  I suspect get regular exercise will hep in the long run, even if it's challenging to do.

Have you considered using a maternity belt?  It's the only thing that has helped my SPD with four of my pregnancies.  It was really bad when I was pregnant with my girls and not as bad with my youngest son.  I can totally tell when I'm not wearing it.  The next day I am barely able to walk.  My OB keeps suggesting narcotics to help.  Uh, no!
