Pediatrician in Hudson Valley?

I'm looking for a new doctor in the Ulster County/Northern Dutchess County area.

I took both my daughters to a Family Practicioner in Saugerties that we loved, but our doc is leaving the practice and we aren't crazy about the other two doctors in the practice taking his patients.

I know that Pine Street and Rhinebeck Pediatrics are options, but am not feeling very sure about either.

We vaccinate although on a slightly delayed schedule.  What I am looking most for is a doctor who listens and works with me, who respects my authority as the parent, and keeps their feedback to primarily medical advice (not parenting advice).

I haven't personally been to him, but I hear that Dr. Malak at Bambini Pediatrics is a great pediatrician. The practice is in Poughkeepsie.

We used Pine Street for two years.   The individual doctors (there must be 10-12 of them) are great.  The problem is, if your child has an emergency or wakes up sick one day, you don't know who you're going to see.  

If you follow up two days later, your child may see another doctor.  There is no continuity of care.   I want my doctor to know my child and become really familiar with them.  To know and trust me as a parent.  Especially in emergencies or when the child is really ill.

Also, I find that it feels like a factory and the front desk, probably from so many patients, doesn't get to know you individually.

I ended up going to a far smaller group practice further west towards Woodstock.  I don't know if that is practical for you.  If you'd like their name, they are great.  My kids usually see one person, 9 times out of 10.  He is really open to my philosophies and more alternative approach.  He supports delayed vax.  When I can't see him, the other staff is very good too.

Hi-I would be interested in the name of the pediatrician that you are using
by Woodstock-looking for a pediatrician in that area who's really good and
open to alternative vaccination schedule. I have also heard that Bambini is good
but it would be quite a trip for us. Any info is helpful-thanks!

I used Bambini Pediatrics until I had to move back to western NY. I loved them! Dr. Malak listens, lets you make the decisions, does his own research and is gentle with kids. I highly, highly recommend him.
