Aqua Doula question...

I think that my midwife uses an aqua doula birth pool.  I had a really nice space in my bedroom which I was saving for it.  My sweet dh is going throug ha nesting phase which is wonderful! However, I'm pretty sure he just eliminated the space for the birth pool  when he rearranged and deep cleaned our bedroom.  The space he now has in mind is about  about 5 feet by 5 feet 3 inches.  The aqua doula site says 6' of space is required but the pool is only 4.5'.  Is it possible that it will still fit?

He does say he will move it back but I can't tell he's not going to do it with a big smile on his face.

The tub would probably fit but your midwife might have a hard time assisting you because she won't have room to manuever - even if you have a pretty hands off midwive she'll probably be taking fetal heart tones periodically at a minimum.  Also if something comes up and she can't easily get to you you might have to get out of the tub which STINKS.  (I'm not talking about emergencies btw, just stuff that requires a little more hands on work.)

I feel for ya.  DH originally set our aqua doula up in the kitchen because it's the most private room in the house (we have lots of neighbors close by).  I made him move it to the dining room which he was not happy about but after all was said and done he realized having the extra room was better.  Good luck!

I had a feeling. Thanks for the heads up.  The way he has it set up, all would be fine except the corner of the bed would be in the way.  So if it wasn't for that, everything would probably be fine...  I told him I would wait until the midwives do their home visit next week and let them be the bearer of bad news.
