GOOD FOR YOU! Â You are an inspiration--I hope everyone who reads this gets her fighting spirit up. Â And by the way, maybe it's just vicarious revenge fantasy here, but I think you should absolutely call that rotten Dr. No and tell him exactly what you think. Â He can't hurt you anymore and there's no more need to play politics. Â Let him know he can't always expect to bully pregnant women and never have them fight back.

Thanks Arete! You are right, I am absolutely going to call the practice to complain about this doctor.
Â
Lisa1970, I am sorry you had to go through that again and again. :(
Â
CubanaMami - hey sis! Proud of you too!
Â
Looking back now I wish I had done more research with my first pregnancy as well. I wonder if I could have prevented the first c-section or at least made myself more comfortable by exploring things like diet and homeopathic remedies and positioning techniques, instead of just following along with the traditional medical approach. Oh well, live and learn - at least this has taught me to question and advocate for myself and my children.

Â
just wanted to congratulate you on getting your vbac. didn't follow your thread from the beginning (just read it for the first time today), but i could have written your original post. as my due date grew closer it became more and more apparent that my care providers were not supportive of my decision to have a vbac (despite their assurances that they were in the beginning).
Â
i too got my vbac, but it was hard won. i went 13 days past due and had doctors tell me that i was putting my baby at risk for brain damage and for being stillborn. they also scheduled c-sections for me on two separate occasions. we canceled the first one and, luckily, i went into labor before my second scheduled one. we labored at home as long as we possibly could (i knew that the more time i spent in the hospital, the more likely a RCS would be). arrived to hospital at 8 cm and delivered our son within 1 1/4 hours of our arrival (all the while the nurses and doctors discussing how there was a 90% of a RCS). thank goodness i didn't hear most of what they were saying (dh informed me later of all that was said) and was focused on what dh (my only cheerleader in the room) was saying.
Â
congrats again! what a great feeling.

Satchie, I somehow missed your update as well. FANTASTIC!
Â
This thread was a great thing for me to (re)read tonight as I have a 38w appt tomorrow. Last week's appointment was pretty rough and I was ready to drop OB care afterwards, so . . . we'll see. My OB has agreed to babysit my ill-advised VBA2C but is otherwise not supportive. And I switched to him at 31 weeks, because at least he wasn't telling me 'no.' However, he's chipping away at me. Same thing with asking me every time - "So . . . we doing this?"
Â
I'm only seeing him b/c my homebirth midwife says that "if" I need/want to go to the hospital, things will go a LOT more smoothly for me. But seriously, if he keeps up this crap these next few weeks, I'm dumping him.
Â
Anyway, your experience and Sam's really put my mind at ease.
Â
Blessings! ~ Kimberly

Thanks gals. The OB was like a different person this week. Instead of a 'big baby' I have 'not a big baby.' Everything looks good. No doom & gloom this week. WTF Jeckyll & Hyde!!!! Thankfully I can't arrange any daycare for my kids this next Thursday, so I'll have to cancel or postpone the next appointment. One of my BFs (not a homebirther at all) and my DH really don't see why I'm bothering going to these appts at all. I'm just taking it day by day and week by week. Don't know what else to do . . .

Good news! I am happy that things went better last time. I am in a very similar boat as you -- HBA2C with shadow OB care.
You can do it mama!! I'm really looking forward to reading your wonderful birth story!

Kimberly, I agree with your approach. Just one day at a time. I am glad you don't have to go in again so soon and hopefully your babe will come before you can schedule another appointment!! You are doing such a good job, mama
