Woops, apparently the stuff is carcinogenic and the article writer didn't research that part.

Unfortunately I could not read the article (my work place blovked the site!). So I don't know in what capacity GV is being used - Im assuming from the title it may be for thrush in breastfeeding women??

 

Im not saying I disagree that there may be better alternatives - however Gentian Violet has only demonstrated carcinogenic properties in mice studies at EXTREMELY high doses with CHRONIC exposure.

 

I have used GV for thrush on my nipples. It works wonderfully. FWIW I tried several other alternatives prior to the GV that were not as effective (ie helped for a bit but the thrush returned).
