Joy Hakim's books - history and science

I'm looking into the History of US series as well as the Story of Science series by Joy Hakim.  Those of you who have used these resources: Would you tell me what you think of them? How do you like them? What ages do you think they're best for? How long does it take to get through each book?

Thank you so much for any information and opinions you can provide! I'm very interested in these materials, and want to know more!

I love them. I think they're great read alouds for 2nd grade and up, depending on the student. Also, great independent study for older kids. The teacher guides are great, too, for science. We really love them. We are not through them yet, but with detailed study the US set could take 2+ years, honestly. That's a lot of material!

Awesome! Thanks so much for responding! I'm hoping to start the History of US books when my older son is 11.  I hope he'll be able to read them to himself at that point! I'm not sure when to start the Science ones, though. I just found out about those when looking up the history ones. There are experiments in the Science books? We love hands-on activities when possible for science. How are those?

Thank you!
