Has anyone done this? My kids are trilingual, and we live in a country that is foreign for me, though they were born here and have lived here all their lives. DD has been able to read the latin (English) alphabet for about a year and a half now. Her reading skills are pretty good. I always thought that at around this stage, I should throw in the other, cyrillic alphabet. Cyrillic and latin are too close together to be able to teach them both at once, I thought. Now, she's confused, while parents who started teaching their kids both (common, because we are in the only country that uses both latin and cyrillic as an official alphabet, both are used equally often) now have kids who read both alphabets.

Then there is the problem of the local latin alphabet and the English one not matching up completely. She'll use local letters, which do not appear in English, to write English words. For example "Engliš". I'm sure this will solve itself, but I am wondering whether other folks have experience with this and how they handle many languages and many alphabets.
