This is the birth of my fourth and fifth child/ren. They are a planned home waterbirth. They are 40w3d in gestation. I am surrounded by three midwives, my husband, my three daughters, and other friends and family. It was an amazing and wonderful birth.
Just so you know, I am having babies...so I am naked (gasp). And they come out of my vagina too. So there is that!

I just posted this last night...but you might have read it in Mothering Magazine two years ago.

Oh, this is so amazing! I read your story in Mothering, but I loved seeing the video! You are a birth goddess!

That's lovely, Sarah - and very reassuring, as I get nearer to my own male/female twins' birth.  There are some medical reasons I'll be in a hospital, despite wishing it otherwise, but I hope to emulate the calm, comfort, and sense of how beautiful and possible an unmedicated, vaginal twin birth is.  - An achievement, to be sure; but not one outside the realm of reasonable desires, or reasonable goals.  Thank you for sharing the video.  I can't imagine anyone expecting twins would not be both comforted and inspired by it.

Wow! Thank you for sharing. That was absolutely beautiful. Just one question - how did you prepare your other children for being at the birth? Your older children seemed so at ease. Were you at all worried beforehand about how they would respond to seeing you in labor? Now that I have my DS, that's something I'm going to be thinking about. I love births - they are amazing! joy.gif

Loved this video! I'm so jealous!

Forgive me if this is ignorant, but I'm curious how you pronounce your babies' names? Cabhan and Aile - Irish names?
