4th grade history?

Thread Starter

I need suggestions for 4th grade history.  This year we did American History quite thoroughly with my 3rd and 6th grader.  In the fall, I'm thinking of having my 6th grader do Switched on Schoolhouse for 7th grade history.  But then that leaves me needing something for my 4th grader.  I don't think SOS would be a good fit for her.

I would like something kind of easy -- lots of me reading to her and not too workbookie.  I do have Mystery of History so maybe should just read through that more with her but was curious what other thoughts there might be.

Thanks for any input!

Hi Kelly, we are using Heart of Dakota next year. It's a complete curriculum, but you could just look at the books used in some of their programs and pull ideas from there. I also like Sonlight, Winter Promise, My Father's World, etc. for book ideas.  Or if you're looking for a literature based program that's complete, I am super excited about Heart of Dakota.  It is Christian, but I assume you're okay with that looking at your other options.  Hope this helps.

We loved Mystery of History. We started with Volume 1 in first grade, and finished Volume 3 last year. Vol 4 isn't due out until next year, so this year we are doing Heart of Wisdom which we are really enjoying!
