Sara--How is it possible that Mr. May has NO vials of ICI and only 5 IUI?? Ugg...we might take this cycle off....although, I liked him too. Outdoorsy civil engineer. Maybe this is our month to try an IUI...eek!! Glad your last insem went well!!
*edited for update...they hadn't updated the computer yet...much more than just 5 IUI. ALSO...found out how they pick their "featured donors"...they are normally new donors (to get people interested in them) or retired donors (trying to get rid of the vials to move them out). Mr. May is retired.

Gelly--So sorry to hear about the lay off on top of the BFN... I like Seraf's advice...if I could "like" it like on facebook, I would!

AFM I am battling a cold and its acting up asthma.. means breathing treatments and they are giving me really bad insomnia.. i am living on about 3 hrs of sleep and it is horrible Dp is sleeping in living room to hopefully not get this.. because of TWW she cant take any cold meds!!

Gelly- I am so sorry for your BFN! The job situation sure does not help. I am sending you strong vibes as you make your way through this difficult time. DP and I have been talking about how this process just seems so unfair and I feel that for you right now. It is very unfair!

Thanks, everybody!  The Kaiser nurse just called me to say that 160 is "a very solid number" for a first beta.  I was 15dpiui when I took the test.  I go in this evening for a second beta.  Hoping that it doubles!

Indigo, it's funny the cravings that your DP is having.  For about the last week I have been craving SALT like nobody's business!  And my normally-quite-strong sweet tooth has been nonexistent.  I can't get enough pickles, popcorn and salt.  Also having some mild cramping and lower back pain, but no nausea yet :)

Happy May everyone! I just wanted to pop over to the new thread to say Hello! I have been lurking and I want to send out.... to all the BFPs that happened last month, and those to come this month! I also want to send a to all of the BFN, Miscarriages, and Chemical Pregnancies!

AFM: DP & I have decided to wait until November to start TTC again. We figure that way we can have a huge surprise for the Wedding if we succeed. We are going to see an RE just to get a better handle on things and then we are going to continue care with our Midwife as well. I will be lurking in the shadows cheering you all on

Gelly—Oh, I’m so sorry to hear about the job and the BFN. I hope the layoff is just temporary, and that you find the perfect new job for you just as soon as you get your BFP (you know, the one with the awesome benefits and mat. leave)!

5Grand—they look nice to me, too—I especially like their springlike green background! I hope they’re settling in nicely! And if that isn’t a pregnancy symptom it at least sounds like a good way to spend the TWW—much better than my whining and worrying regimen.

CaNanny—Ugh. I’m sorry about the breathing problems. But glad to hear the spotting is over! When do you plan to start testing in earnest?

Lise—are you hoping for more than 1 kid? Would it bother you to use different donors for them? I wonder about this sometimes—I think it probably doesn’t make any difference but then I have plans to stockpile our guy whenever it works. Glad he’s got more than 5 vials, though! It doesn’t seem fair to sell out of your featured donor on the 2nd day of the month!

RainbowBrite—I hope the wait is relaxing and just what you need—and that in November your guys come out swinging so you can have that surprise for the wedding!

AFM—1st insem went well today. I asked for an ultrasound first which was very reassuring—my lining is up to 8.1, lead follie clocks in at 24. I took the trigger shot last night and she said it didn’t look like I’d O’d quite yet, so probably sometime tonight.
The nurse read me the wrong info on the donor—apparently this month’s hadn’t been entered yet and she didn’t check the date. I was totally disappointed in the crappy numbers again until she got to the end and read the wrong donor number. I sent her back and the new guy is MUCH better. 24mil, 18mil motile, 69% motility. Much better than the sad 25% from last time. We’ve decided that this is our guy come hell or IVF (which is the same thing, I gather) so I’m very relieved that his numbers are good. DP had to work today so it was just a trial run as far as I’m concerned—tomorrow is the big day! The egg will be en route and the swimmers will be primed and ready to go!

Congratulations, Kelly!  When I was pregnant, my very-prevalent sweet tooth went out the door.  A tip - I never got nauseous, but I did get really "gaggy," and life savers and sour patch kids both helped, even though I didn't necessarily crave them.  Good luck on your second beta!

AFM: Started my new job as nannying ends at the end of the month. I'm pooped from working two jobs. I sure did sleep well last night after work and I assume I will again tonight! I have nothing else really! Thinking of you all!

Ugh, add dp to the list of laid off workers. . There were rumors at her work so it's not a complete surprise but it still sucks. She's putting out feelers to all her contacts in town and will be filing for unemployment...and theres still the possibility that she'll be hired back if her company gets work soon. We do have an emergency savings fund and our worst case scenario is that she will be a sahm. So we have options and are not sweating it too badly at the moment.

Thanks Seraf/Kelly/Max/SmilingSara/Lisedea/Isa/Indigo/Cannay (everyone)! We...DP and I...are going to be okay...the whole think just sucks...timing and all. I know that things will work out the way that they are supposed to. We are still in for this cycle. I have my CD10 follicular check up on Friday...and if everything looks good then we will insem on Monday or Tuesday. So, I'm trying to relax and get it together. I'm going to try some guided meditation/imagery hopefully it will help.

We are going to get a few projects done around the house that we need to do. We had already purchased the materials...and now I have the time. So here is to sleeping in...working out, getting things done on the 'honey-do-list', and finishing this semester of classes strong....oh and getting knocked up!      

Indigo~ hugs for you and your DP...being laid off sucks.

Hugs to you both, Gelly and Indigo--I am so very sorry to hear about the lay-offs. I can totally relate, my dp was unexpectedly laid off in 09 and it was really hard for us. I hope whatever happens with the employment situations works for your families.

Sorry, I don't think I answered this. I guess I'm planning on bf'ing her until she doesn't want to bf anymore! I know I may change my mind if I get pregnant and she is still nursing but I'll deal with that when/if it happens. Congrats on a great beta number, btw!

Indigo--I'm so sorry to hear about your DP's job. What a crappy time! But at least to get laid off for the summer and in the first, sleepy trimester has a few merits. Hopefully it'll just be like an extended mat. leave.

Sara--the blood doesn't matter in that direction. If you were negative and he were positive that would be a problem, but since you already have whatever it is they're testing for (Rh? CMV? something else?) his not having it isn't a problem. What is a problem is the fact that you are already pregnant from Mr. March. But I'm sure you'll find a way to deal with that, won't you?

Isa:  I hope your insem goes wonderfully today!  It sounds like your body is primed for it.  My lining was only 7 mm this cycle (I think due to the Clomid) but things worked out for me!  So I think you're in perfect shape.  Yay!

Indigo:  I was truly sorry to hear about DP's layoff.  Sounds like she has a lot of contacts though and I think that's the most important thing.  Hugs to you both!

Gelly:  Glad to hear you're sounding positive about having extra time to get some stuff done :)  Like you said, now you have lots of time to dedicate to getting knocked up!

5grand:  Thanks for the tip!  Ironically, I'm feeling kind of queasy right now.  Not sure if it's due to the fact that I'm on my computer on the shuttle or due to hormones.  I'll have to pick up some Sour Patch kids ;)

Sara:  Working two jobs is seriously hard.  Hope you got a good night of sleep and that you go down to just one job soon.

thanks everyone for the hugs and thoughts.  :)  dp is in good spirits still and may have a couple of opportunities already.  :) 

she went in for her third beta this morning and we should have the results later this afternoon.  we had a bizarre phone message from our nurse late yesterday asking if we'd had any betas done while we were overseas.  lol, no!!  anyways, we are just patiently waiting for the beta number back.  dp did have a super queasy episode this morning.  last night she was eating pickles and ds1 asked for some.  we were sure he wouldn't like it but he munched up a couple of pieces!!  ds2 is funny, he keeps snuggling with dp's belly.

Second beta came in at 491!!!  Yay!  I go in next Tuesday for my third and final beta test and will do an early pregnancy sono at 7 weeks.

This feels totally surreal, but wonderful!  

I'm sending out baby vibes to all of you
