Queer Conceptions - May 2011 - Page 5

Hi everyone: thanks very much for having an open conversation about what I brought up. As I said, I didn't feel there was a right or wrong answer and I knew that we would have a lot of differing opinions. I really appreciate everyone's thoughts (whether here on the board or in private) and hope that at the least, there has been an awareness brought about that will help all of us in this challenging journey.

Lisedea: I'm so sad for you guys. I've been there with a 15 year old pet and it was just devastating. I'm really sorry and big hugs go out to you guys. Taking some time off might be the right move. you can never fully heal the heart but giving it some space can help.

Well, life has its funny turns and the day I posted here with my "deep thoughts by Krista" I got a...

So here we are, back on the roller coaster. I am quite chill at the moment. I have opted for no HCG tests and just moving forward. We are in a good place in our lives and we feel positive.

I will now go into a little bit of lurkdom, keeping an eye on you all and hoping I set off another set of BFPs (if you remember correctly, when I got my BFP in January I did set off a mini trend!)

Much baby fairy dust and all that.

Your friend,

Krista

Congrats, Krista! When I was TTCing the first time, I had six months of trying between my first pregnancy (M/C), and the one that stuck. Those six months were the hardest of my life. I've been following your story here, and am so glad to see those two lines!

I'm mainly just a lurker here, though we are planning to start TTC again in August. (I have an almost 3 year old DD.) Looking forward to watching you all graduate before I even get my first shipment of sperm.:)

It's great, thanks for asking!  Starting a new job during the TWW was really awesome because it helped to distract me.  I love the people I work with, the Google food is AMAZING (over 30 different cafes on campus, all with healthy options), we get to bike around between buildings, and there are 5 gyms and a ton of group fitness classes that are free for Googlers.  My commute is longer, but I'm enjoying the shuttle--it gives me time to do homework, catch up here, or rest.  I did find that unless I sit in the front of the bus I get a bit carsick...but other than that, no complaints!  How's your new gig?

Lise, so sorry for your loss.  Hugs to you.

Krista, congrats!!!  That is such awesome news.  You, Indigo and I are all pretty close here in terms of timing :)

Kristia: I am literally jumping for joy for you! Congrats congrats! Please stick little bean! Please please stick!

Kelly: that sounds like an awesome place to work! I am slightly jealous! I too agree starting a new job during the TWW is a good thing to do! I'm digging it, liking working around adults again and the quick paced atmosphere! They said they really like my friendly and positive attitude, so they are putting me on the line and start everyone's food for them! I'm excited because if I am pregnant, I can still do that position fairly easily!

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been MIA for so long. I've been reading and silently cheering you all on! Popping back in to send some veggies to Krista - YAY!!!

carrot.gifbroc1.gifbanana.gif

For those of you who remember me from before: hello again! and to the folks I don't know: hello to you too!

DW finally got a job!!!! She's actually working as an attorney! We are so happy. And of course we decided to get a puppy because, you know, NBNP and all that, and then she gets a job the same week! So, needless to say things have been hectic. We decided to let her settle in her position, get me on her new insurance and then get started! We're looking at first insem being the last week of July and/or first week of August. I am planning to LIVE IT UP until then and we have a lot already planned for this month and for June (my 30th b-day, Pride, breast cancer walk, 5k, bridal shower for sis-in-law, drinking a lot...). We have also being hanging out with Isa and her DP a lot lately which has been awesome - she can tell you what a dork I am IRL winky.gif

Anyway, I'm thrilled to be back! Good luck and baby dust to all!

I'm so sorry for your loss :( We had to unexpectedly put down our beloved 14 year old cat on Christmas Day this past year and it was so, so hard. Take care.

AFM—waiting, waiting. The endometrin makes me tired and cranky, which is no fun. I’ve also been kind of crampy and maybe just a little off my feed, but I’m also blaming that on the spooge pills. I’m still back and forth on being hopeful, but at least I feel like it’s coming down completely to luck this time—that nothing else is wrong or unexpected to get in the way of getting pregnant, it’s just a matter of whether we’re lucky or not. DP went to visit her mom for the weekend so I’ve got lots of bachelor plans (mostly involving cleaning, sewing, and craft fairs. Not much of a bachelor, am I?) We’re not going to test until NEXT Sunday, so for now I’m just trying to be calm and hopeful as best I can.

Doing opks, cm, cervix position, temp, the whole thing! It's starting to look like my body geared up to O but then changed it's mind. Fickle thing, my mind.

Your bachelor time sounds like mine lol

Yep, very confusing. Temp is still up today and if I disregard a couple of rogue high temps earlier in my cycle I do have a fairly clear temp jump if it continues to stay up until AF. I'd be happy to see that I did O.

I think we'll go ahead and try next cycle if I start to have indications of impending O by CD18 or 19. I don't think I want to take the chance of insem'ing if I O super late (past CD25). I discussed it with my acupuncturist and she agrees that egg quality can be compromised and it may end up in a m/c. Of course she said she's also seen a ton of women O on day 30 something or even later and have a very healthy babe in 9 months! I'm just not sure how I feel about knowingly going into a situation with an increased chance of m/c....it was so traumatic for me the first 2 times....of course, nothing is certain under any circumstances.

So, we'll see. At this moment, yes, we are hoping to try this next cycle...I think it would be late May/early June.

I hope your little bean is growing, growing, growing :)

Hi everyone. I don't know about you, but i'm having a hard time with today. I expected to, but that doesn't make it any better. Anyway, I was thinking about my friends who are moms and how I don't want to even interact with them today because I'd have to wish them a happy mother's day and I can't. I just can't. And how what I really wish is that one of them would call ME and wish me a happy mother's day--to make me feel like this might actually happen, like they see me as a mother already, like I'm not just faking or being some weird wannabe.

And then I thought about everyone on this board and how when I'm here I really feel that coming from all of you--moms and not-yet-officially-moms alike. No one acts like those of us who are trying for our first kid are any less a part of this community or any less deserving to be on a board called 'Mothering'. It's pretty amazing.

So I wanted to wish everyone here a happy mother's day. We're all already moms, whether we've met our babies or not. I hope that next year at this time we'll all have graduated, but I wanted to let you know that today is our day whether anyone else knows it or not.

isa, sorry you are having a tough day... I remember having a particularly bad day last mothers day... I had just had my m/c and was on a TTC break, it was hard. I walked into work on Monday and everyone in my dept had a rose and card on their desk, I was crushed... until I reached my desk. I had been included in mothers day because it was known we were TTC! it was the sweetest the ever, it totally helped to be recognized even though I wasn't pregnant yet/again.

I really wanted to wish you all a happy mothers' day, but hesitated because I didn't want to overstep my boundaries. I don't want to rub salt in anyones "TTC wound". I believe each and everyone of you deserves to be wished a happy day because you ARE all mothers already!!

I hope you can take some hope from the fact that last mothers day I was still TTC and this mothers day I have my bundle in my arms... I never would have believed had I been told that a year ago.

wishing you all peace today and babies for next mothers day!!!!!!
