First open adoption visit went well

Our son is one month today and we meet his birthparents and sibling at the park along with our other kids.  It went well!  I am so thankful that things are open.  I hope it keeps going this well.  I just want to tell others to not be scared of open adoption.  It has been a blessing so far.  The first time I heard of it I was thinking that isn't for me but now that I am living it, I am thankful.

I'm glad it went well.

Yes to this! I totally get that. I was the same way... and then when I met my dd's birthmom everything changed. I really like her and look forward to when we talk on the phone. We met twice so far, once before placement and then at placement. We have spoken on the phone a few times, and plan to meet again early this summer.  My dd has been home for 2 months.

I am so glad to hear that things went well at your first meeting :) How was it for you? Was it a very emotional experience?

At the visit it wasn't emotional.  Both birthparents are very calm and quiet and thankful to us.  I was emotionally for me before meeting.  We have emailed a lot.
