Serious Mate drinkers (you gotta have it, you have dedicated glass and straw, etc): your favorite...

We use the brand in the health food stores as a back up but don't love it (ecomate?) We've been ordering online but having mixed results with both customer services and quality of delivered loose leaf. We don't love the flavored ones, though we add our own mint sometimes.

Where and how do you get yours? Which ones?

Thanks in advance (slurp slurp).

We drink an Argentinian brand called Cruz de Malta. My husband is from Argentina and we live in a very Hispanic area so I can get it, along with other brands of yerba, at most supermarkets.

Thanks - I'd forgotten I'd made that post! Will look for Cruz de Malta online...

Reviving an old thread to ask if anyone has any yerba mate favorites that are available from Frontier?  There are so many varieties and I'm not sure what to try first.  I would like to try out yerba mate in my on-again-off-again quest to cut down on coffee.

I assume the loose kind is more economical...   do you have to brew the loose mate like coffee (with a filter) or can you strain it or put it in a ball like tea?
