Progesterone -didn't refill it or get re tested

My pregnancy was detected very early and my progesterone was 14.

The N.P at my gyno's office said they like it to be at least 20.

At 9 weeks I ran out after using it for a month and I didn't 't get re tested because my neighbor who is a nurse told me I didn't need it.

I had read that the embryo produces it's own progesterone at 9 weeks on BabyCenter. Then I just read that the baby produces it's own progesterone at 12 weeks.

So now I am worried and my MW appt. is not until May 11.

I wonder if they would check it at the ER.

My gyno's office only sees pregnant women up to 9 weeks.

I hope I didn't cause harm to the baby because I didn't keep up the progesterone.

I could only pick up the Rx from one pharmacy and it was hard to find. I just moved and didn't want to get lost. Also the gas and the Rx was very expensive so I couldn't really afford it if I didn't need it.

Does anyone know how I can get my level checked right away?

So how long have you been off of it?  My doctor had initially said I could go off of it at 10 weeks, which I was really uncomfortable with based on what I have read.  Things changed in my pregnancy (for the worse) and now she wants me on it longer.  Anyhow, I don't think the ER will probably check your levels, and regardless, some feel that blood levels aren't actually that accurate anyhow.  I would call your doctor's office right away in the morning and explain the situation and ask for a refill and fill it right away.  Things are probably just fine for you right now, but I wouldn't want to stop that soon. Good luck!

So you are 12 weeks now?  I am guessing you're probably fine then.  What did they say?

Well, I hope so.

Yes, I'm 12 weeks. Thank you for responding.

The progesterone threads are scary to read.

I haven't gotten a call back from my NP at the gyno's office yet.

I am going to call tomorrow and see if my MW clinic can have me tested right away. I have a Rx for ultrasound but I want to avoid scanning my baby. I think I will let them doppler the baby but only on my first appt. since I'm worried.

Thank you again.

I have REALLY low progesterone without supplements (like 5 or less) and I always went to between 9 and 11 weeks, usually less. I never got mine retested either, and I've had three very successful pregnancies since we discovered my progesterone problem! Never had any spotting after I stopped either.

My doc said to take it until 10 weeks. The RE I met with (but am not under the care of) said 8 weeks. I think if you have gone to12 weeks without it, you were fine to go off of it. :-)

If you didn't have progesterone in your body to support your pregnancy, you'd have bled and miscarried by now. Promise. I can't promise that everything is fine with the baby and the pregnancy, but I can tell you 100% that you are making enough progesterone to support this pregnancy because it's been 3 weeks.
Also, here the cut off is usually 12 for adding progesterone, so you wouldn't have been on it in the first place. No worries.

Thank you very much.

That is very reassuring.

I'm glad I didn't put myself in a financial bind unnecessarily and that I took the supplement about the usual length of time.

It was more finding that pharmacy and getting back home more than the money.

I'm excited to see the MW on May 11
