with dd 1 i borrowed a moby-type sling for those newborn months. it was some knock-off brand that is no longer in business. i'm due end of may and with a toddler to take care of i anticipate really needing to wear the new kid this time around. i did prefer the stretchy wrap for the beginning although i can't use it for that long because i have a horrible back, it's hard for me to babywear, and once the weight goes up, the stretch is just too much for me. i switch to a mei tai after that.
so that said, with having a summer baby and wanting to use a stretchy wrap for a few months...is it worth it to spend a considerable chunk of change on a gypsy stretchy wrap? is it really that much thinner than a moby? i've also heard they have less stretch and are somewhat between a gauze and a moby.
(i would love to do gauze but i'm too chicken to tie one. also, i do need to pop in and out more often because of the back issues.)
