Should I take him in?

My DS is four years old and AT LEAST three weeks ago he fell off of his bed and landed on a keepsake box that has sharp corners. He cut his cheekbone and it was bruised for awhile...the scratch seems to be a scar at this point and he has been complaining about his owie hurting...I've ignored him to be honest because he has a very intense personality and has been known to exaggerate. Well, I feel horrible because I happened to feel it with my fingers and there is a hard yet sort of smooshy, jelly bean sized lump where the scar is...He says it hurts when I touch it.

What do I do? Leave it or take him in? I'm worried that it is getting a cyst under it...

TIA

I would take him in. It could be a little abscess/boil. They do hurt. If it is, it should be lanced and drained. It could be nothing, but to be sure I would take him in. A jelly bean lump is pretty big IMO.
