Yellowish Quarter Moon/Circles on sons Cheek bone

Dad on Mom's account here.  Thank you in advance for your help.

We have just noticed 3-4 very thin yellowish circle/quarter moon markings on our sons cheek.  They are 1/16 - 1/8 inch in diameter.  Has anyone else ever seen anything like this?  Thank you.

Is it possible they are finger nail shaped bruises?  Could your son be poking himself with his own nails?

That is a thought for sure.  He has only scratched himself with his nails, I have not seen this type of mark on his face.  He is recovering from an ear infection, day 10, this mark is on the same side.  He does pinch me sometimes.  Waiting to see what it looks like this AM when he wakes.
