Hope all is well and YEAH!!!!! It's Friday Baybeeee!!!!! Is anyone else whooping and celebrating like I am LOL?
Nic, I'm glad you are feeling better, opiates are totally hard core. What I tell my patient's caregivers is fluids, keep moving, and give it TIME! It sounds like you are eager to get moving again, but remember to be gentle with yourself for a while longer. I have a unrelated question. I listen to a podcast called "The Marathon Show", and there are a group of Sarasota runners who are always on it, and one guy who has run a gajillion marathons, had a cardiac arrest (!!!!!) this winter at a marathon, and is now back at it, and is planning a crazy marathon on 11/11/11 in Sarasota. I am wondering if some of these people are the folks you run with?
Penelope, what a strong, amazing woman you are, dealing with these stressful things and getting it done. I think you are awesome, and I hope things get less frustrating for you soon.
Gaye hope your final went well and I can't believe you already raised so much $$$$, you are a fundraising machine, Woman!!!!!
REalRellim: on the intervals, I think you are probably working right where you need to be working to make progress if you could only make pace on some of the intervals, you are pushing the envelope and that is what is going to give you progress. That's so cool about your daughter, you must be so proud!
Jaygee & bec, I can't believe all you Mamas who get out there and into the pool. I think that is so awesome, you inspire me.
Jo, I'm loving your updates, thanks SO much for taking the time to share all your news!
Kerc, how much longer do you have to go back to the Jury pool? I hope this is your last day. I always get picked in Jury duty, wah.
LaLa your weekend sounds awesome!!!!!! I am so happy for you. Grown up fun time is priceless IMO :)
Mel, LOL I can't do chin ups either. Never have been able to. So sad. My trainer gave me a modified exercise that I can't remember the name of. you need to find a low monkey bar at the park where you can hold on with your arms and sink down into a squat, then pull yourself up without using your legs. I can do about 8 of those haha. I am preferring to think of my deficiency as a "Starting Point" haha
Nemesis, I am so happy for you and will shut up now to not jinx you ;)
Poppy my Love!!!!! i went and ordered that book, "The secret guide to running" because if you recommend it, I am all over it! Can't wait to read it!!!
I'm good, fighting off a bug so taking it easy this week. I met with the trainer on Tuesday to start implementing phase 1 of my "master plan to conquer the marathon this year" (LOL). Someone asked how I got hooked up with her: she's an acquaintance that I ran into while food shopping, literally minutes after thinking hard about wishing i could have a trainer to help me. We got to chatting, blah blah blah and she told me she just got hired as a trainer. She's a fellow mama and marathoner. Hello Universe, thank you for immediately delivering me exactly what I wished for :) So I am doing a few sessions. Right now we are working on strengthening my weak parts, and working on getting the most out of my recovery days. I've realized that in all m 24 years of distance running, I have never had any sort of instruction, or clue, on what to do to actually get something out of recovery beyond rest.
I'm getting really psyched for Marathon day. One more week. I'm gonna go to the running shop this morning, soak up the running geek energy, and buy some more energy gels. I am looking for a better fluid replacement other than the easily available gatorade. Id love to find something more natural, not full of chemicals and dyes. Not gonna try anything new and crazy for the marathon (learned that lesson already LOL) but for long term want something better. I'm looking forward to working hard on race day and hopefully getting or coming close to my PR.
NRR I am making a baby sweater for a shower on Saturday and had to order another skein of yarn. Well it came Wed. and I realized I ordered sportweight instead of worsted. Wah. Re-ordered the right thing but now have mega time crunch and stress that I won't finish it. If I had the yarn I could do it but will it come in time? Being a procrastinator, while generally offering me a rush of adrenaline at the end that I kinda like, does have its drawbacks lol. On a side note, Cascade 220 sport, seems like it will be a really awesome yarn to work with and I think I will have to use it soon in the future for something! And I love that it comes in every color in the world.
Have an amazing Friday Mamas, I hope it is a good one. Mine started off with my kid peeing on my in bed at 4:45 but that led to a great early morning run. When life hands you a golden shower, you should, um, make lemonade (?).....................
