Last month Peggy asked everyone to join her in challenging Facebook's policy regarding breastfeeding photos.

Time has picked up the story:

There's no doubt that breasts are sexualized in our society, even when they're doing what they're designed for — feeding babies. And that's not sitting well with breast-feeding advocates who are angry that Facebook has once again removed photos of mothers nursing their babies.

In the latest bit of censorship, last month Facebook removed breast-feeding images from Earth Mama Angel Baby's Facebook page. “Babies get hungry,” explained a post on Earth Mama's website. “And breasts feed babies. We don't consider either photo obscene. Each shows a human baby having lunch.

It's pretty fabulous to have them cover this issue so well and in such a positive light so please take the time to leave a comment on the article to let writer, Bonnie Rochman, know you appreciate her story. And please spread the word!

I changed my FB profile pic to one of me nursing my daughter, and I shared this article on my page. And I'm really excited that you are using my breastfeeding photo to advertise this!!  Yes, that is me and my then-19-month-old!  I'm glad I can play a part in raising breastfeeding awareness! :)

What is with all these people thinking breastfeeding is offensive?!  Jesus was breastfed and no one bothered his mom about it, so they shouldn't bug a mom in day and age.  Breastfeeding is natural and the only way we are going to make people realize that is to show images of mom's breastfeeding.

Not only will peoplerealize that breasts are not sex objects, but that babies are healthier drinking breastmilk rather than formula.

I am not pregnant yet, but when I have a child, they are going to be breastfed for as long as they want to.  I want my future child to be has heatlhy as possible.

I really knew better, but I clicked on the link and then let myself read the comments. On just the first page (I'm not a masochist - I didn't read on to the second!), there were two commenters compairing breastfeeding to publicly pooping. What is wrong with people?
