Leftover Cooking Water from Black Beans

Thread Starter

I just cooked my first pot of black beans from dried.  I have a pot full of water left over from the beans. I haven't tasted it but what can I use it for?

I water my plants with stuff like that. I figure it's there, why not? LOL I know you may have dumped it by now but food-wise, you could use it when making soup. You could even freeze it for later--just be sure to take it out of the freezer soon enough when making soup. Hmmm, use it to steam veggies (re-use it, really) or cook potatoes in? (I've also used veggie-steaming water to water my plants.)
