My DS just got chicken pox and we visited a pregnant friend just a few days ago.

I don't know if she has had chicken pox or not but I already feel awful.  We went out to eat on Friday (today is Tuesday) and DS sat at the opposite end of the table from her.  We were there for about an hour.  My DS was randomly coughing to top things off.  We obviously didn't know he had it then.  She has a son who I believe has been vaccinated for it.  She is due around mid-June.  She is very pro-vaccination and I know this is really going to freak her out.  Any suggestions or thing to help her out?

Your son's spots started how many days after you saw your friend?

I don't really have any suggestions for you, but obviously you need to make her aware. She's in the 3rd tri, so I don't think there is any danger to the fetus, and it's possible she is immune anyway.

I agree - most pregnant women get titres for rubella and CP early on in pregnancy. It is likely she is immune. I would just be matter of fact about it. You couldn't have known and the danger for pregnant women as PP said is in the first trimester. If she freaks out - tell her to call her OB for reassurance.
